This is the most current and up-to-date version of Warlocked at the time of publishing all of Warlocked's builds on itch. I've decided to publish all past versions along with the most current version of the game to see if I can start to build a small playerbase to provide much needed feedback to shape the games future.
MAJOR CHANGES:
- Added an initial prototype boss after clearing the first region
- Added a "victory" condition after defeating the first boss
- Completely overhauled death screen menu
- Added a buff system for visual feedback when using consumables such as potions
- Certain alchemy recipes are now locked until the player learns them through unlocking the alchemy table and getting recipes while playing
MINOR CHANGES:
- Added multiple new equipment items
- Arrow indicators now display the direction to exits in each room
- Player character now uses mouse position to determine which way it is facing, not movement
- Added new animations for player casting spells, based on mouse position
- Tougher enemies are now more visually differentiated by a larger body type
- Updated enemy equipment to further reflect differences
- Enemy pathfinding is improved yet again (will it ever end?)
- Juiced up the title menu a bit
- Overhauled and improved enemy spawning
GENERAL STUFF / BUG FIXES
- Fixed a bug where buttons would briefly display an outline after being pressed
- Optimized decoration system a bit
- Improved some visual effects on exiting a room
- Updated metal armor art to have brighter colors
- Cleaned up options menu buttons
- General UI improvements
- Player can now hold shift + click to quickly equip or unequip an item
- Items lost / stockpiled on the death menu can now be scrolled to look through if there are enough items
- Fixed a bug where enemies would be invincible to damage until theyve gotten up
- Rune tower is now destroyed on hit, no matter the damage dealt to it
- Updated some meta progression descriptions for further clarity0
- Fixed some graphical issues involving the player tower
- Removed clone tank collision on spawning in tower; you can now walk directly through it
- Fixed a bug that prevented mana from resetting properly on player death
- Cleaned up and added many sound effects
- Stopped fire effect on enemies if theyre dead
- Spell lifetime property is now shown in spell crafting menu
- Potions are now placed directly into pockets if inventory slots are full and pocket slots are not
- General visual improvements on enemy projectiles
- Minimum possible damage dealt to an enemy has changed from 0 to 1
- Overhauled homing behavior for player projectiles
- Fixed a bug where the wrong description for an item would show immediately after swapping item positions in inventory
- Fixed several crashes that could occur on player death
- Updated some items icons
