WARLOCKED UPDATE 0.23


NOTE: This is an old update that I still had the version and changelog for on my computer.

This update is pretty big, and really helps flesh out the rooms a bit more, introducing 12 total layouts and randomly generated exits. Enemy pathfinding AI has been SIGNIFICANTLY improved, and each “exit” to a new room now displays the reward and difficulty of that room, allowing you to make informed decisions of which exit you wanna take! The next update will focus on a big enemy overhaul, adding in a couple new types and making their attacks more unique. Full changelog below.

Major Changes:

  • 12 total layouts for the areas, meaning rooms now feel much more unique 
  • Significant improvements to enemy AI and pathfinding, should be much smarter about trying to get to you 
  • Exits to new rooms now display difficulty and room “reward”

Minor Changes:

  • Completely reworked how rooms determine how enemies are spawned. Now come in several small “waves”
  • overhauled room difficulty and allowed different rooms to have different difficulty levels
  • added effect “indicators” to show when enemies have been frozen/lit on fire, etc 
  • increased the amount of runes you receive from a rune slab 
  • decreased the amount of aether it takes to create a crystallized aether 
  • increased player speed slightly
  • added a version checker while trying to save/load game to provide warnings if theres a game version mismatch
  • implemented an "Abandon Clone" button to immediately end current run
  • can no longer waste aether on focus alter unless you have enough for it to drop a crystallized aether
  • reworked options menu
  • can now remap inputs in control screen

General stuff/bug fixes:

  • hair is now hidden when you have a head gear on
  • fixed bug where exits sometimes wouldn’t spawn, trapping you in a room
  • fixed equipment recycling bug — no more infinite aether 
  • player stats now update accordingly when recycling equipment that was worn
  • hair styles are now numbered instead of being previewed
  • changed black hair color
  • added blue hair color
  • fixed a layering bug that makes you appear behind some of the room borders 
  • fixed a bug where trying to set fire to crates would crash the game 
  • made wizards tower interior mossier 
  • gave outlines to a lot of the text in the game for easier readability 
  • fixed a bug where destructible objects could drop more items then intended if you attacked them quickly enough 
  • added particles to the exit of the tower interior
  • fixed some bugs with glowing particles, added a lot of glow effects to other stuff
  • spells dont cost aether while in tower
  • implemented scroll bars/art
  • tweaked players dash vfx slightly
  • optimized some particles
  • added a sound effect for when you can dash again
